Les Amis de la montagne were invited to a meeting held by representatives of the City of Westmount on June 13 to discuss the renewal of Sunnyside Park. The discussion was based upon a study submitted to the city on March 31, 2006, on the obstruction of viewpoints from the Belvedere lookout by trees, specifically “120 trees that are currently in direct conflict, or will be in direct conflict in the years to come (three at the most), with different viewpoints from the Belvedere lookout over Sunnyside Park.” Following the meeting, Les Amis de la montagne forwarded their comments to the City of Westmount in writing, with a copy of the letter (in French) available here.
