Mount Royal Park is the crowning jewel of Montreal, thanks to the vigilance and will of its citizens. In 2001, the entire community celebrated the 125th anniversary of the inauguration of the park. The festivities provided many opportunities to enjoy and explore the park, but they also invited all members of the community to reflect upon our shared heritage worth preserving for generations to come.

	FREDERICK LAW OLMSTED drew the design plans for Mount Royal Park in an age where he was considered the most famous landscape architect in North America.

	FESTIVE FAIR IN MOUNT ROYAL PARK recalls the park’s official opening in 1876.
	THE MOUNT ROYAL SUMMIT , held March 14, 2002, attracted more than 200 citizens and representatives from corporations, institutions, community and professional associations, and government to address the protection of Mount Royal.
